Meditation 76 – The parable of the two sons

What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work today in the vineyard.’ ‘I will not,’ he answered, but later he changed his mind and went. Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, I will, sir,’ but he did not go. Which of the two did what his father wanted?

‘The first,’ they answered.” – Matthew 21:28-31

It is the overflow of the heart that feeds directly into our actions. If your heart is in the right place then your actions will be also. It’s like meditating in all you do so that you act, speak and think out of a place of love.

We are judged by our own actions our own choices, where our heart sits and who our master is. Obedience is just another way of saying that we should do things that are in keeping with making the body and mind healthy.

Look at how the parable is entitled ‘Parable of the two sons.’ We are all children of God, we all belong to him, but it is the one who acts in line with the spirit and who is able to experience joy in every circumstance that they find themselves in. They are true children of God and draw positive things from the Universe.
