‘These people honour me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.’
Matthew 15:8-9
Why have we chosen to make serving God or acknowledging the power within ourselves so complicated?
We take pleasure in all things external and seek satisfaction in all manner of whims that take our fancy. We plough our time into religion and religious things instead of looking for the truth within ourselves.
‘Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man ‘unclean’. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. These are what make a man unclean; but eating with unwashed hands does not make him ‘unclean’.
Matthew15:17-20
Go within discover the truth, but choose well as to the soil that you wish to plant your seed in. Within us all we have both good and bad tendencies; the question is which part of your being you choose to bring into your reality.
